Regular meeting of the Board opened at 7 :30 P. M.
Present were Chairman Donahue, Messrs. Hopkins, Zanni and Superin-
tendent Putnam.
Minutes of previous meetings read and approved.
Mr. George G. Bogren, representing the firm of Weston & Sampson,
Consulting Engineers, appeared before the Board to discuss the Report on
Water Supply submitted by his firm to the Board on January 6, 1958. Mr.
Bogren explained the report in detail, and answered questions regarding
the report propounded by Board members and the Superintendent. Moved,
seconded and voted to have three hundred (300) copies of the Weston & Samp-
son Report on Water Supply printed in its entirety by The Reading Chronicle
Press, Inc., at an estimated cost of 0460.00.
Moved, seconded and voted to 'grant permission to Post 685 Veterans
of ForeignWars to hold on Easter Egg Hunt at Birch Meadow Playground on
April 5, 1958.
Received written request from G. Warren Cochrane, Jr., 26 County
Road for a re-hearing on County Road Betterment Acceptance. Moved, secon-
ded and voted to hold a second hearing regarding the acceptance of County
Road under the Betterment Act on Monday, February 17, 1958 as requested.
Moved, seconded and voted to insert the following Articles in the
Annual Town Meeting Warrant: '

Received letter from Dana J. Alward protesting the proposed accept-
ance of Knollwood Road as a Public Town Way under the Betterment Act.
Letter noted.
Received letter from Lee Squibb, 47 Willow Street, requesting cer-
tain considerations for water main extension to property owned by him at
9 Arbor Way, Moved, seconded and voted to install a six (6) inch water
main at Mr. SquibbsI expense on Vine Street, and to permit a water service
pipe connection to be installed in Arbor Way, also at the expense of Mr.
Squibb.
Received letter from Bertram Gosse et ux, property owner on Knoll-
wood Road, protesting the proposed acceptance of Knollwood Road as a Pub
lic Town Way under the Betterment Act.
Received letter from Addison-Wesley Publishing Co. , Inc., request- '
ing that Jacob Way be renamed "Addison-Wesley Road". Letter noted, and
filed for future action.
Signed Plans and Agreement for construction of Pine Ridge Circle,
Francis Kiley, Developer, under cash bond .
Moved, seconded and voted to instruct Superintendent to release
Annual Report of the Board and the Superintendents' Report to the Reading
Chronicle for publication in the usual manner.
Received 'letter from Frank R. Gray Sr, of al Van Norden Road re-
questing relief from drainage condition on Van Norden Road abutting his
property. Letter noted, and filed for processing in the usual manner
when funds are available .
Moved, seconded and voted to advertize Chapter 718 Summer Avenue
Reconstruction project for bid opening on Monday, February 24, 1958.
Moved, seconded and voted to permit Reading District, Boy Scouts
of America, to use Reading Common on Saturday, February 8, 1958 for obser-
vance of Boy Scout Anniversary Week.
Agreed to hold Board Meetings on the following dates; Thursday,
February 6; Saturday, February 8; Monday, February 10; and Tuesday,
February 11.
