Present were Chairman Johnson, Messrs, Hopkins, Donahue, Zanni, Kilgore and Superintendent Putnam. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Signed vouchers and payroll for payment. Held Public Hearing at 8:00 P. M. on acceptance under the Better- ment Act of Harvard (Private) Street, from Lowell Street to Essex (Private) Street. Pierce - by letter Yes Following the Public Hearing, it was moved, seconded and voted to report Harvard (Private) Street to the annual March 1957 Town Meeting for acceptance, following standard construction methods, including bituminous concrete sidewalks. Superintendent Instructed, by vote of the Board to prepare ex- planation forms defining the mechanics of street acceptance under the Betterment Act for distribution to abuttors at future street acceptance hearings. Held Public Hearing at 8:30 P. M. on relocation of the Southerly aide line of South Street, Easterly of Main Street, through lands of ' Jacob N. Zeytoonian at ux. Present at the Hearing were: Jacob N. Zeytoonian 72 Main St. , Reading John J. Zeytoonian 72 Main St. " J. Warren Killam, Jr. Attorney for Jacob N. Zeytoonian. After a revision of the proposed relocation was dlscu ased and -® agreed to by Mr. Zeytoonian, his Attorney, and the Board, it was moved, seconded and voted to report the relocation of South Street to the annual March 1957 Town Meeting for acceptance. Held Public Hearing at 9: 00 P. M. regarding the relocation or alteration of the North-Westerly corner of Main. Street and South Street, through lands of A. J. Tambone d/b/a Massachusetts Builders, Inc. Mr. Tambone was not present at the Hearing, but had previously ex- pressed his approval of the relocation. Moved, seconded and voted to report the relocation of the North- Westerly corner of Main and South Streets to the annual March 1957 Town Meeting for acceptance. Examined and approved for signature of Superintendent, the fol- ' lowing Registry of Deeds Plans, under the Subdivision Control Law: Land on Pine (Private) Ave. , owned by Irving Walker. Land on Main Street, owned by John E. Hurd at ux Lend on Prospect Street, owned by Estate of Emma J. Richardson. Superintendent instructed to investigate legal aspects of instal- ling bituminous concrete gutter berms in locus of block sidewalk con- struction projects, and report back to Board regarding same. Chairman Johnson orally reported to Board results of recent con- ference he had held with Frederick Oliver, Chairman of the Special Sewer Study Committee, regarding 1957 sewer construction plans. Secretary Donahue then corroborated Chairman Johnson' s oral report, and exhibited to Board a rough draft of the forthcoming Special Sewer Study Committee report. Received notification of Precient and Town Meeting dates from Board of Selectmen-noted. Received from the Town of Reading Board of Health a letter and report regarding approval under Subdivision Control Law of septic tanit and cesspool requirements, in the Sturges Trust Development off Walnut Street, as follows: March 8, 1957 Board of Survey Municipal Building Reading, Mass. Gentlemen:- In accordance with Chapter 41, as amended by Chapter 674 of the Acts of 1953, Ganeral Laws (Section 81A to 81GG inclusive.) Herewith is the report of the Board of Health on the proposed development of Ash Hill Road, Balsam Road, Maple Ridge Road, and Oak Ridge Extension. Following is a list of restrictions as ordered by the Board of Health. Please have .same endorsed on plans as a prerequisite of the approval of the Board of Survey. Restrictions on Cellar floor elevations, lots 1/52 inclusive as shown on plan. Public water supply and storm water drainage approved as shown on plan. Superintendent instructed to negotiate fur- ther with Corps of Engineers. Received copy of favorable decision from Town of Reading Board of Appeal regarding the public hearing on granting permission to Tran- sitron-Trancoa to erect manufacturing plants in the Industrial Zone Easterly of Ash Street. Decision noted. Voted permission to Superintendent to employ Charles Moloy as Land Surveyor at salary of $85.00 per week, subject to approval of Per- sonnel Board. Discussed Articles for Special Town Meeting to be held Monday evening, March 28, 1957, which are as follows: ' Abandonment of Englund (Private) Road Request for funds for temporary playgrounds on future school sites Request for funds for Sewer Study Engineering services. All Articles listed approved for presentation to Special Town Meeting. Meeting adjourned at 1:45 A. M.
