Donahue, Johnson, Hopkins, Zanni and Superintendent Putnam. In Absence of Chairman Kilgore, Secretary Donahue was elected Chairman Pro Tem. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Hearing held at 8;00 P . M. on location of steel guy stub on Pearl Street, West Side, opposite Baker (Private) Road. Superintendent Harold F. Davis of Cemetery. Dept. appeared at hearing. No objection being raised as to the proposed location of the ' steel guy stub, it was moved, seconded and voted to approve location as petitioned. Moved, seconded aid voted to instruct Supt. to attend hearing to be held by State Dept . of Public Works, Waterways Division at 100 'Nashua Street, Boston on Monday November 21, 1955 and request State funds for stream clearance to repair damage caused by excessive rain- fall of August 18-19, 1955. Also signed petition on State form request- ing State aid for same. Received request from Mystic Vally Gas. Co. to erect, a sign at the entrance to their storage plant on John Street. On recommendation of Supt., voted to grant permit for sign as requested. Received letter from John W. Fleming Jr, applying for position as Land Surveyor in Engineering Division. No action taken. 154 Received letter from citizen requesting relief from surface water standing in driveway and roadway at 45 Franklin Street, Supt. instructed to prepare drain study in this location. Received letter from John Daley, requesting action be taken in establishing street grade on Henzie Street. Superintendent instructed to complete lopation survey now being made and present his recommenda- tion to the Board. Received letter from Lester W. Bowen, 1457 Main Street, request- ing aid in a sergice pipe renewal problem. On recommendation of Supt. , voted to install 200 feet of 211 cement lined service pipe at Towns' expense, and to charge Mr. Bowen for 213} feet of 1}" cement lined pipe at 7V per foot. Received letter signed by three residents of Haverhill Street protesting water hazard on Haverhill Streit Northerly of Batchelder Road caused by water being pumped from cellars of houses outletted on Haverhill Street, and requesting that the nuisance be abated . Matter taken under advisement pending report of Superintendent. Received application from Transitman William MacBrien, request- ing that he be considered for position of land Surveyor. Application taken under advisement by Board. Reviewed request from A. J. Tembone of Massachusetts Builders, Inc. , to permit drainage of two lots of land on Sturges (Private) Road through the Sturges Park Drainage system. Voted to invite Mr. Tambone to confer with Board on Monday even- ing, November 28, 1955 at 8;30 P. M. regarding this matter. P` Yll Y g R14� fExamined Registry of Deeds Plan for approval under Subdivision Control Law, being a redivision of four lots at the intersection of Forest Street and Van Norden Road. Plan approved for Superintendentfs signature. On recommendation of Superintendent, moved, seconded and voted to award contract for Bituminous Concrete Sidewalk Construction to the low bidder, Chris Coviello, for the bid price of $3511.25.
