Donahue, Hopkins, Zanni, Johnson and Superintendent Putnam. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved as corrected. .Opened bids on Furnishing and Placing Bituminous Concrete Side- walks on Woburn Street at, 8: 00 P M. , with following results: H. H. McGuire & Co. Inc. 326 Commercial St. Malden. . . . . $7,985.00 Chris Coviello 45 Spring St. , Wakefield. . . . . 3,511. 25 Bids taken under advisement pending checking of bid items. Received letter from Floyd D. Bickford, 35 Glenmere Circle, re- questing permission to connect a cellar drain to the town drainage system. Voted to grant request subject to the usual restrictions. Five citizens residing on Intervale Terrqce interviewed Board , regarding their petition filed on October 17, 1955 for sewer exten- sion on Intervale Terrace. Mr. Josiah H. Squibb, 17 IntervAle Terrace, acted as spokesman for the group and explained the critical need for a sewer in Intervale Terrace. Hearing held at 8:30 P. M. on easement for drainage purposes on the headwaters of the Aberjona River, also known as Birch Meadow Brook, from John Carver Road to Intervale Terrace. Following abutting prop- erty owners were present, who registered their opinion as noted: Harris Zltzow 15 Intervale Terrace Yes Wm. F. Pitman 27 Grove St. " Donald Higgins 51 Grove St. " Davis G. Wilcox 1.8 Intervale Terrace " Moved, seconded and voted to take easement as shown on Board of Public Works Plan A-10-153, and signed Order of Taking of Easement. ' Manager Gilbert Stanford of Reading Municipal Light Dept. appeared before Board to discuss proposed direct burial cable install- . 151 ation on Lowell Street, and to explain construction methods to be followed. Selectmen Latham_ and Drew, Planning Board Members,. Clinch, Hartshorn, Corindia and Sommers, Messrs. Cummings, Small and Douglas from Addison-Wesley Publishing Co. met, with Board to discuss various problems engendered by the proposed construction of a new building for Addison-Wesley Publishing Co. , Inc. between Route 128 and South Street, near Englund Road. No action taken, pending outcome of Board of Appeal Hearing on the proposed new business on November 10, 1955• Received letter from Board of Selectmen requesting release from Board of Public Works of small irregular shaped parcel of land situated ' Northerly of the Tree and Moth Dept, garage and Easterly of land owned by William S. Deferrari, which is currently dedicated for use as a pub- lic dump. On recommendation of Superintendent It was moved, seconded and voted to release said parcel of land as requested. Moved, seconded and voted to take easements for drainage and sewage in eleven locations, public hearings having been held as re- quired by law on same, and signed following listed Orders of Taking for recording in the Registry of Deeds: - 1. Harvard (Private) Street Southerly through Private Property. 2. Lots 2-3-4-5 and 6 King Street and Westerly side of Hancock St. 3. Lots A,-C,-2-3 and Unnumbered Lot Easterly of Main St, and Southerly of Hopkins Street. 4. Lots 1-3-lA-4-5-6-18-19-20 and Unnumbered lots Easterly of Cape Cod Ave. , Westerly of Deering Street and Southerly of Lowell St. 5. Lots 1-5 and 6 Forest Street. 6. Unnumbered Lot West Street. 7. Lot 43 Pine Ridge Road 8. Unnumbered Lot Grove Street. 9. Lot A Lowell Street 10. Lots 21 and 22 Oak Ridge Road 11. Birch Meadow Brook, Northerly of Intervale Terrace and North-Westerly of John Carver Road. Moved, seconded and voted that Superintendent have Engineering Division - make a complete and Comprehensive survey and studyot Aber- jona Brook drainage problem, from Birch Meadow to Westerly of West, Willow and Sumner Avenue, and- report back to Board.
