:. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Twomey called the meeting to order in the Superintendent's
School Committee Members Cavicchi, Conference Room.
Dahl, Oriset, ICeigley, Russo and Twomey were
Present. Also present were Superintendent Harutunian and Town Manager Peter
Hechenbleikner.
- NEGOTIATIONS
Dr. Haruhmian presented the educational assistants' contract and answered questions
fiom the Committee.
Ms. Cavicchi moved to ratif the agreement with the Readin Educational
Assistants Association at 2.5% for none- ear eriod be inning Jul ti 2001 and
endin June 30 2002. Mr. Kei le seconded motion. Motion was a roved by a
roll call vote 6-0-1. Votin in the affirmative were School Committee to
Twome Griset Cavicchi Keiole Russo and Dahl. Mr. Hechenbleikner
abstained M

the Committee.

4 Dr. Harutunian presented the secretaries and clerks' contract and answered questions
from the Committee.
Ms. Cavicchi moved to ratif the a reement with the Secretaries & Clerks Union at
2.5% for a one- ear eriod beginning,fuly 1 2001 and endin time 30 2002. Mr.
Keiale seconded motion. Motion was a roved by a roll call vote 6-0-1. Votino in
the affirmative were School Committee members Twome Griset Cavicchi
I{ei�lev Russo and Dahl. Mr. Hechenbleikner abstained.
Dr. Haruninian reported good labor relations between the administration and the unions.
Dr. Harutrmian reques�d the committee put in 2.5% in the budget for FY20o3. Mr.
I-lechenhleikner stated t,at Police and Fire departments settled for 2S% in the 2itl and 3'�
years of their contracts, The Superintendent discussed other towns that settled for greater
than 2.5%.
The committee briefly discussed next year's contract negotiations

At 7:20 12.m. Ms. Cavicchi moved to adjourn. Mr. Griset seconded to motton.

Cavicchr Ketsley, Russo and Dahl
