Zanni, Hopkins, Johnson and Superintendent. Minutes of previous ,meeting read and approved. Received letters from Clyde Everett Equipment Co., and Clark Wilcox . Co. , requesting that they be permitted to submit addenda to their bids Hough and Michigan Tractor-Shovels. , Board voted to accept addenda, and instructed Superintendent to view demonstration of all tractor-shovels bid. Voted to petition Personnel Board for permission to employ Edward Wright as Transitman from June 1, to September 15, 1955 as Transitman at hourly rate of $1.65 as recommended by Superintendent. 8 7' -z- Received letter to be sent to Waterways Division State Department of Public Works, relative to Ipswich River Drain project and U. S. Geoligical Survey of source of Reading ground water supply. Received letter from Francis O'Brien, Manager of Reading Town Team, requesting playing dates at Washington Street Ball Park, and offering the Town two regulation size used players dugouts which he had obtained from Tufts College for Washington _Street Ball . Park. Voted to approve playing dates, and to accept dugouts subject to approval of Superintendent . Interviewed following listed employees as candidates for position of Highway Foreman: Howard McSheehy -- Winter Street , Reading William A. Formally -- Highland Street, Reading Interviewed Richard T. Dugan as candidate for position of Assistant Highway Foreman. Set date for formal hearing on Linea Lane, being developed by Heber Crocker at al, for Tune 13 , 1955. Voted to write State Department of Public Works protesting deplorable state of repair of sidewalks on South Main Street, and requesting they be repaired . Board adjourned at 10050 P.M.
