The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M.
Present were Chairman Kilgore, Messrs. Johnson, Hopkins, Zanni,
Donahue and Supt., Putnam.
Minutes of previous meeting read and approved .

Received letter from Mr. A.E. Murphy, 98 County Road, requesting
permission to connect a cellar drain with the Town storm drain on Lothrop
or County Road. Voted to grant permission, subject to usual restrictions.
Received petition for sewer extension on John Carver Road, from
Woodland Road Northerly. Petition accepted and placed on file.
Hearings held at 8:00 P.M. on extension of sanitary sewers as
follows: Oak Ridge Road ----- Oak Street to Sylvan Road.
Sylvan Road -------- Oak Ridge Road to Pine Ridge Road .
Pine Ridge Road ---- Sylvan Road Southerly 410 feet.

Hearing held at 8:30 P.M. on extension of sanitary sewer in West
' Street, from Scotland Road Northerly.

Discussed specifications and plans for 1955 sewer contract at ,
some length. Instructed Superintendent to re-write specifications and
plans, deleting certain ambiguaties and data therefrom and making certain
recommended changes therein.
Approved drain easement as suggested by Superintendent on property
of one Magno located at the South-East corner of Main and Hopkins Streets.
Town is to assume legal and engineering phases of easement necessary to
relocate existing open ditch, Magno is to furnish and lay 15" R.C. drain
pipe in easement and then fill ditch.
Received estimates for May 16 sewer hearings on Lowell and Bond
Streets.
Board signed letter _of appreciation to John F. Sawyer at ux for
their civic spirit in granting the Town land to relocate the corner of
Arlington and Lincoln Streets.
Recommendation made by Superintendent regarding Type I resurfacing
of Minot Street as follows: Tentative estimate for resurfacing with two
courses of Type I exceeds amount appropriated at Town Meeting, but by
using a portion of funds necessary to armor coat Minot Street, Type I
could be installed.
Voted to resurface Minot Street with Type I as recommended, and to
call for bids on said surfacing.
As recommended by Superintendent, voted to invite bids on two 3/4
ton pick-up trucks from local dealers, the exp&cted purchase, price
being under $2, 000.00 each.
