HomeMy WebLinkAbout1954-05-10 Board of Public Works Minutes May 10, 1954 1 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7 :30 P.M. Chairman Kilgore,Messrs. Donahue, Johnson, Zanni, and Super- intendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Received letter from Town Counsel stating that new Zoning By Law affecting Residence A2 will become effective the day after the third advertisement appears in the newspaper. Hearing at 8:00 P.M. on proposed drainage easement thru lands of Hartshorn and .Dow in the rear of Nos. 26-34-38-42 and 46 Bond Street. Following persons present: John A. Signed Orders of Taking for above described easement. Received latter from Superintendent Welch resigning his position of Superintendent of Public Works effective June 4, 1954. Received letter from Selectmen relative to sale of land on John Street to W. J. Walker of Wakefield. Land lies in Reading just North of the Reading Wakefield Town line. Voted to lay on table and request Selectmen for further information. Received letter from Whitman and Howard relative to cost of placing electric service to new sewer pumping station. Cost is $822.25 _A -2- Voted not to put electric service underground. Conferred with James Calvin, 25 Sanborn Street, relative to his ' request for an additional sewer house connection from his home to the sewer in the easement just south of his property. Voted to approve his request for an additional sewer .house connection since he has a two level cellar and it is not possible to connect the lower part of the cellar to the sewer in Sanborn Street. Received letter from Daniel Chamberlain, 99 Pine Ridge Road, requesting permission to connect his cellar drain to the proposed drain pipe to be laid just north of his home this year. Voted to approve request subject to usual provisions. Discussed possibility of writing Attorney General requesting his quick approval of new Zoning By Law affecting Residence A2 Zone.
