The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
7:30 P.M.
Chairman Kilgore, Messrs. Hopkins, Johnson, Zanni and Super-
intendent Welch were present.
Voted to approve request of Little League Association for blanket
seasonal permit for use of Little League Field and for Washington Street
Park on April 17, 19, 24 and 25 for tryouts.
Voted t Is approve request of American Legion Junior Baseball Team
for use of Washington Street Park on Monday and Wednesday Evenings
starting May 25, 1954 and ending August 18, 1954 and on alternate
Sundays starting May 23, 1954 and ending August 22, 1954•
Hearing at 8:00 P.M. on proposed sewer in Chutg Street from
High Street to near Woburn Street.

Voted to approve extension of sewer as above described.
IReceived petition for short extension of sewer in Summer Avenue
easterly of Boyce Street .

Received petition for sewer extension in High Street from Lowell
Street to Middlesex Avenue.

Received petition for the installation of a storm drain in Henzie
Street.
Placed on file . -
Considered plan for proposed driveways to rear of Post Office
from Sanborn Street and from Haven Street. Driveways are to service a
proposed new loading platform.
Voted to approve both proposed driveways and to authorize Suner-
intendent to sign plan.
Voted to appoint Mr. Harold Kilgore, Jr. , to serve on Committee
authorized under Article 3 of Town Meeting Warrant which is to study
the development of the Birch Meadow Area.
Voted to appoint Mr. Dominic Zanni to serve on the Recreation
committee.
Voted to appoint Mr. Kenneth Johnson to serve on the Cotmnittee
authorized under Article 30 of the Town Warrant which is to study School
Housing needs.
Voted t o fill in the cellar hole at the corner of John street
and Village Street and to relocate and construct the corner.
Received letter from Charles Hanson requesting permission to
connect cellar drain from Lot 36 Summer Avenue to public storm drain
in Summer Avenue .
Voted to refer matter to Superintendent for his action.

Received letter from Leslie York, 16 Lothrop Road requesting
extension of the storm drain in the easement abutting his property.
Placed on file.
Considered possibility of surfacing Oakland. Road with bituminous
concrete in place of treated gravel as previously proposed.
Voted to obtain price per ton 8r bituminous concrete from 0. Menici
& Sons.
Board adjourned at 10:30 P.M.
