The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
7:30 P.M.
Messrs. Donahue, Hopkins, Johnson, Kilgore, Zanni and Superintendent
Welch were present.
It was moved, seconded and voted to appoint the Superintendent
as temporary moderator pending the election of a Chairman.
Mr. Donahue nominated Mr. Kilgore for Chairman.
Mr. Hopkins seconded the motion.
Mr. Hopkins moved that the nominations be closed.
Mr. Johnson seconded the motion.
It was voted to close the nominations.
Mr. Hopkins moved that the Superintendent cast one vote for Mr.
Kilgore for Chairman.
Mr. Johnson seconded the motion.
Superintendent Welch cast one vote for Mr. Kilgore as Chairman
and he was thereby unaminously elected Chairmau.
Mr. Kilgore assumed the office of Chairman.
Mr. Hopkins nominated Mr. Donahue for Secretary.
Mr. Johnson seconded the motion.
Mr. Donahue was unaminously elected Secretary by voice vote.
Mr. Welch was unaminously reappointed as Superintendent.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Received notice of Special Town Meeting to be held March 29, 1954.
Voted to include in Warrant article for relocation of Northwest
Corner of South Street and Curtis Street.
Received letter from Insurance Comm, relative to cost of fire and
supplemented coverage on Water Storage Tanks. '..
Voted to loam and seed certain areas around and under the Beacon

Street Standpipes.
1 Hearing at 8:30 P.M. on proposed drain easement o££ Haverhill
Street through lands of Frank Lewicki (667 Haverhill Street) and Robert
Withrow (671 Haverhill Street) .
Following persons present:

Voted to take easement as above described.

Hearing at 9:00 P.M. on proposed drain easement of Pine Ridge Road
through lands of Robert Everett (93 Pine Ridge Road) and Daniel
Chamberlain (99 Pine Ridge Road) .
Following persons present :

Voted to make taking as above described.
Signed Order of Taking for above described easement.
Signed Plan showing above described easement.
Received letter from Whitman & Howard suggesting the Board approve
the request of the Bagarella Construction Company that they be allowed
to sublet the installation of the casing under the railroad tracks to
.the Motherbrook Construction Company.
Voted to approve the request of the Bagarella Construction Company.
Voted to hold next meeting of the Board on Monday, April 5, 195!}. 'i
Received letter from Town Counsel stating that in order for Town
Meeting to rededicate the land on Birch Meadow for school purposes it
will be necessary for the Board of Public Works to write the Selectmen
that this land is no longer needed for playground purposes.

Voted to so write Selectmen in so far as the "First Parcel", in
Article 26 of the Town Warrant is concerned.
Voted not to so write Selectmen in so far as all other parcels
in Article 26 of the Town Warrant are concerned.
Board adjourned at 10:30 P.M.
