Board of Selectmen's Meeting February S 2002
CALL TO ORDER
AT 9:15 p.m. Mr. Griset called the School Committee to order in the Selectmen's
Meeting Room. Present were School Committee members Cavicchi, Dahl, Griset and
Keigley. Members Twomey and Russo arrived shortly thereafter. Also present was Dr.
Hamtunian.
The Committee listened to the presentation concerning a capital improvement plan for
roads, and a possible debt exclusion to fund it being proposed by the Board of Selectmen.
Town Manager,Peter Hechenbleikner discussed the results of a study done on the roads
of Reading.
Mr. Dahl spoke about the need to set priorities, and fund our highest priorities fust.
Chair Twomey spoke about priorities and how the Selectmen select priorities. He noted
that placing a debt exclusion for roads may send a message to voters that this is the
highest priority in the town and this may adversely affect the debt exclusion already on
Ikw the ballot for the design work for Reading Memorial High School.

Mr.Dahl moved to adjourn Mr. Griset seconded the motimi The vote was 6-0 Ms
Cavicchi.Mr. Dahl,Mr. Griset,Mr. Kekdev, Mr. Russo and Mr. Twomey.
