To Fincom Members:
Enclosed please find
1. The final Assessment from M.W.R.A. for F/Y 1989 for Reading.
2. M.M.A. Note regarding the Governers Vetoe of $91 Million in Local
Aid. ( I have written to our representatives about this in
your name. )
3. Information oh Real Estate Classification and how it is
implemented.
Our next meeting will be on either 9/8/88 or 9/13/88. I am
attempting to arrange to have one or more of the Assessors
and Yano attend that meeting and explain the details of R/Est.
Classification.
There are several possible Reserve Fund Transfers which you
4 should be aware of (which may or may not occur)
1. Transfer to continue -Clean up of Old D.P.W. site which
is contaminated with Fuel Oil. The work costs about $3, 000.
per week and D.P.W. has funds on hand for about 2 Months.
2. C.P.C.D. may require a transfer to finance a portion
of the Bear Hill Zoning study costs.
The various labor negotiations are continuing and at this time
the most critical appear to be: Teachers, School Custodians,
School Cafetaria Workers, Police (The Quinn Bill seems to be
back as an issue) and Fire.
I will be away for most of the remainder of August so if there
are any problems, questions, requests, gripes, etc Vice Chair
Brian McMenamin will , I am sure, be glad to accomodate you
and handle any and all situations.
