The meeting was called to order at 7:25 p.m. in the auditorium of Reading Memorial High
School, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman Steve Blewitt, Vice Chairman Jim
Kiegley, members Carol Grimm, Gerard Vitale, Gerry MacDonald, Catherine Martin, Tom Green,
Rocco Nenarella, Nathan White, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner. The Town Manager
noted that the Water and Sewer Advisory Committee had recommended and the Board of
Selectmen has further recommended an amendment to the sewer budget for this year which would
reduce the line N2 in the amount of $100,000 because the MWRA expenses were less than
anticipated. It would also increase the use of sewer reserves by $67,000 because there is a
considerable amount of sewer reserve available. On motion by Vitale seconded by Green the
Finance Committee voted to recommend to Town Meeting the amendment to line 2 to decrease1

expenses by$100,000, and to increase the use of sewer resery0

Relative to Article 14, the Town Manager noted that the sum of$1,000 was required in order too
effectuate the acquisition of this drainage easement. On motion by Blewitt seconded by Grimm
the Finance Committee voted to recommend the subject matter of Article 14 in the amount of
$1,000 by the vote of 8-0-1 with MacDonald abstaining.
On motion by Blewitt seconded by Green the Finance Committee voted to adjourn at 7:30 p.m.
by a vote of 9-0-0.
