June 28, 1995
The Finance Committee met at 7: 30 p.m. in the Berger Room at
Town Hall. Present were Chairman Steve Blewitt, Vice
Chairman Jim Keigley, FinCom members Gerry MacDonald, Nate
White, Fred VanMagness, Dick Coco, Carol Grimm, Jerry Vitale,
Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner and Secretary Maureen
Vierra. Also present were Rocco Nenarella, Tom Green Jr. ,
and Catherine Martin.
Chairman Steve Blewitt introduced Rocco Nenarella, Tom Green
Jr. , and Catherine Martin. They have been chosen to serve on
the Finance Committee effective July 1 , 1995.
Liaison Reports:
Steve Blewitt reported on the Police Station renovation task
force. Renovation of the current station will cost
approximately 3.5 million dollars. The task force met with
the Board of Selectmen to discuss possible alternative sites
for a new station.
Fred VanMagness reported on the 25 Haven Street task force.
Only one bid was received and had no dollar value associated
with it. The committee is discussing alternatives to the bid
process including transferring the control of the sale to the
RMLD hoping to sell the property through a commercial broker.
Carol Grimm was appointed to the 25 Haven Street task force.
She will replace Fred VanMagness who has resigned.
Reserve Fund Transfers
On a motion by VanMagness seconded by Grimm the Finance
Committee voted to approve the transfer of $193.60 to the
Zoning Salaries account #01-0666 by a vote of 8/0/0.
On a motion by VanMagness seconded by White the Finance
Committee voted to approve the transfer of $200.00 to the
Fire Expense account #01-121 by a vote of 8/0/0.
On a motion by VanMagness seconded by Coco the Finance
Committee voted to approve the transfer of $2,800.00 to the
Personnel Expense account #01-042 by a vote of 8/0/0.
On a motion by VanMagness seconded by Coco the Finance
Committee voted to approve the transfer of $1,401 .00 to the
Health Salaries account # 01-051 by a vote of 8/0/0. The
Town of Stoneham will reimburse us for this amount.

On a motion by VanMagness seconded by Coco the Finance
Committee voted to approve the transfer of $3, 100.00 to the
Property/Casualty Insurance account #01-850 by a vote of
8/0/0.
Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner reported he anticipates
approximately $60,000.00 will be returned to free cash by
various municipal departments.
Peter Hechenbleikner has requested the vacation schedule of
the Finance Committee, Board of Selectmen, and the School
Committee in order to schedule a retreat meeting. The
Finance Committee will meet in July to prepare an agenda for
the retreat.
The Finance Committee meeting adjourned at 9: 20 pm. The next
meeting of the Finance Committee is scheduled for July 24,
1995 and will be held in the Conference Room at Town Hall.
