April 10, 1995
The meeting convened in the auditorium at Reading Memorial High School at 7:00 p.m. Present
were Chairman Richard Coco, Vice Chairman Fred VanMagness, FinCom members Nate White,
Gerry MacDonald, Tim Kiegley, Steve Blewitt, Carol Grimm.
The Town Manager presented a Reserve Fund Transfer Request for $2,510 to the Assessment
Division for appraisals. Molly Ziegler, Chairman of the Board of Assessors spoke to the
proposal. On motion by VanMagness seconded by Blewitt the Finance Committee approved a
transfer of$2,510 to account 01-031-5312 Assessors Appraisal Services by a vote of 5-0-0.
The Town Manager reviewed Article 12 which is trade in of equipment. He noted that he had
added the trade in of three Police vehicles which is a standard item. On motion by VanMagness
seconded by Blewitt the Finance Committee voted by a vote of 6-0-1 to recommend the subject
matter of revised Article 12.
The Town Manager reviewed adding item K29 in the amount of$22,888.77 to the budget, the
source of funds being from the 1994 article for the High School roof. The proposed use of the
funds is to use these funds in addition to available monies from the contingency of the Joshua
Eaton project, to fund the reconstruction of the roof of the older portions of the Joshua Eaton
Le School. The total estimated cost is between $105,000 and $160,000, and the contingency monies
are unknown as of this date. On motion by VanMagness seconded by Keigley the Finance
Committee voted by a vote of 6-0-0 to add item K29 to the budget when it is presented on the
24th.
After a brief adjournment, the Finance Committee came back to session and recommended the
modification of the Capital Improvements Program to add project K29 Joshua Eaton Roof in the
amount of$22,888.77 as previously noted. On motion by VanMagness seconded by Blewitt the
Finance Committee voted to recommend this change in the Capital Improvements Program. 13,b-

On motion by VanMagness seconded by MacDonald the Finance Committee voted to recess until
the end of this session of Town Meeting by a vote of 6-0-0.
