Members present: Chm. Mount, Raley, Scott, Connelly, Roberts, Merrill, Currell, Canty, Devaney, Crocker. Clerk. Finance Committee Meeting February 27, 1934. The meeting was celled to order at 8.05 o' clock by the Chairman. After some informal discussion regarding the financial situation of the town from available information, the entire budget for 1934 was 4W taken up. The following votes were taken: Tinder General Government, the amount estimated were voted with the following exceptions: Collector' s Salary - Estimated $2300.00 Recommend 92066.00 Assessors' Salaries- " 1800.00 it 1761.00 Assessors' Clerical- it 2340.00 It 2165.80 Block System Survey It 300.00 It 200.00 The items Town Counsel' s Salary and Town Counsel's Expenses were passed over.-- Under ver.-Under General Accounts the amounts estimated were voted with the - exception of Fire Stations Maintenance and Planning Board Expenses which were passed over. Under Protection of Persons and Property the amounts estimated were all voted. Under Health and Sanitation the salary of Inspector of Plumbing estimated 8800.00 - voted ? 761.00. Voted 91000 for Sewer House Connections. '.! under Highways and Sidewalks, no votes were taken. Under Street Lighting - norvotes were taken. Under Education, it was voted to recommend the estimates with the exception of G neral Maintenance which was passed over. ® PIt was voted to recommend for the Public Libraries - 17BG0.00. Under Cemeteries it was voted to recommend 48600.00. It was voted to recommend 4500.00 for Memorial Day Observance. Under OTHER APPROPRIATIONS it was voted to recommend $5000.00 for Article 6, Reserve Fund 18.00 " " 7, Overdraft, O.A.A. ® 300.00 " " B, Unpaid Sills 653.36 " " 9, Overdraft, Snow & Ice 400.00 " " 10, Care of Soldiers' Graves 647.3.00 " " 11, Middlesex County Hospital 25.00 " " 20, Land, Great Island 500.00 " " 269 Damage Suit Settlement ® 75.00 " " 33, Town Forest Development 61.00 " " 41, Personal Iyjuries 1000.00 " " 44, Rent, Legion Quarters 400.00 " " 43, Child Welfare Work Other amounts asked for under WiER APPROPRIATIONS were passed over to be acted upon at the next meeting. It was voted that the next meeting be held on Friday evening, March 2nd, at which time the Selectmen and other Boards could be called in for further conference. The Clerk was instructed to write to the Board of Assessors requesting an conservative estimate of the valuation of personal property and real estate for 1934. • Adjourned: 10.20 P.M.
