The meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 8.10 o'clock. the records of the meetings of July 11th and August 10th were read and approved. This meeting was called to give the School Committee an opportunity to present further plans for school housing. The Committee was represented �.. by Mr. Holcomb, Mrs. Hartshorn and Dr. Wakeling. Mr. Holcomb covered much of the ground already covered by Chairman Coolidge at the previous meeting. This was for the benefit of the members present who were absent at that time. Mr. Holcomb stated that no information was yet available regarding the obtaining of money through the Emergency Finance Board. There was con- siderable discussion and Mr. Holcomb answered several questions put to him by members of the Finance Board. *It was voted that the Finance Committee approve the school house build- ing program as presented. It was voted to hold the next meeting Tuesday August 22nd. Note: This is not to be taken as a recommendation of articles in Warrant as we have not all the facts. Members present: Chm. Mount, Briggs, Haley, Scott, Knox, Currell, Connelly, Merrill, Ellison, Devaney, Crocker. Adjourned 9.25 P.M. Clerk. Finance Committee Meeting August 22, 1933. The meeting was called to order at 6.05 o'clock. The purpose of this meeting was to vote upon the warrant for the Special Town Meeting August 29th. The Board of Selectmen, Chairman Leman and Mr. Morrison, were first heard on Article 2, Soldiers' Benefits and presented an additional budget for the balance of the year of $6,800.00, made up as follows: Soldiers ' Relief $6,000.00 State Aid 300.00 Military Aid TI 500.000 Iftr GUT.M The manner of dispersing Soldiers' Aid was explained by Chairman Leman and several questions were asked and answered. the Board of Public Welfare next appeared, Mrs. Leman and Mr. Side- bottom. The Welfare Department presented an additional budget for Charities 114► and Aid amounting to $40,550.00 made up as follows: Administrative Expense 550.00 Aid Board & Care 30,000.00 Temporary Aid 9,000.00 Old Age Assistance 1,000.00 Total $40,550.00
