Reading, Mass. , December 10, 1951
The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
7:30 P.M.
Messrs. Donahue, Walker and Superintendent Welch were present.
Records of previous four meetings read and approved.
Voted to hold next meeting of Board on Sunday December 16, 1951,
at 2:00 P.M. and another meeting on Monday, December 17, 1951, at
7:00 P.M.
Received letter from George Recker, 143 Willow St. requesting
permission to connect his cellar drain to the public storm drain.
Voted permission subject to usual provisions.
Temporarily adjourned at 7:30 P.M. to meet as Board of Survey.
Reconvened at 8:00 P.M.
Received letter from Harold Drury, 57 Harrison St. compli-
menting employees for excellence of work done while installing his
House Connection.
Received letter from employees thanking Board for granting
them a day off on December 24, 1951.
Signed final cost sheets for 1951 Chapter 90 Maint.
Signed agreement with State Dept. Public Works covering
State allotment of $8,000 for 1951 Chapter 90 Const.
Voted permit to N.E. T & T Co. to enlarge the following
manholes:
Lowell St. at Highland #74/18
Lowell Street at Salem Street #74/17
Lowell St. at Middlesex Ave. #74/19

IVoted permit to N.E. T & T Co. to install following
underground.
Salem St.--from Lowell St. to Main Street
Considered 1952 Budget.
Board adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
