The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
7:00 P.M.
Chairman Hopkins, Messrs. Calvin, Harrison, Walker, and
Superintendent were present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Discussed general storm drain and sewer problems throughout
Town.
Superintendent instructed to prepare a list showing all
requests now on file plus any additional projects that should be
included.
Considered request for a marked football field at Washington
Street Playground.
Laid on table pending receipt of further information.
Voted to apply to New England Water Works Association for
membership of full Board under a Corporate Membership.
Considered at length the installation of skating rinks.
Voted to eliminate the enclosed rink at Birch Meadow.
Following Granolithic Sidewalk applications received, approved
and placed on file:
Edgar Gilman 128 Vine Street
Voted not to accept applications for granolithic sidewalks
after November 1, 1951, a-cept in cases where, in the opinion of
the Board and the Superintendent, the installation of granolithic
Is warranted by unusual conditions.
Voted to accept applications for Bituminous Concrete
sidewalk onlyafter November 1 1951.

Received letter from Constance Marshall, 16 Weston Road,
relative to surface drainage conditions abutting her property.
Superintendent will investigate.
Voted to hold next meeting of Board on Monday Evening,
October 22, 1951.
Board adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
