Donahue, Harrison, Walker, and Superintendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Signed Order of Taking for drainage purposes off Pearl St. through lands of Christenson, Morrison, Burley and McLellan. Considered report from Superintendent that Mr. Chester Putnam, Foreman, has stated that he intends to retire shortly. It was moved, seconded, and voted to approve the recommenda- tion of the Superintendent that Mr. Ernest Watson be appointed Foreman in the Highway Dept. effective shortly before the retire- ment of Mr. Putnam at his present salary. It was moved, seconded and voted to approve the recommenda- tion of the Superintendent that Mr. John Tormey be appointed Foreman in the Water Dept. effective shortly before the retirement of Mr. Putnam at a salary of $69.00 per week. It was moved, seconded and voted to approve the recommenda- tion of the Superintendent that Mr. John Louanis be appointed Pumping Station Engineer effective August 15, 1951 at a salary of $64.00. Signed two copies of 1951 Chapter 90 Maintenance Contract. Following Granolithic Sidewalk applications received, approved and placed on file: Polly Chase 18 Fairview Avenue - Alice Pratt 91 Pearl Street Eugene Cox 22 Fairview Avenue 146 Following Granite Curb applications received, approved and placed on file : Eugene Cox 22 Fairview Avenue Eric Erickson 146 West Street Ruth Hardy 150 West Street Joseph Le Bow - 298 West Street Conferred with Mr. John Batley, 314 Summer Avenue, relative to drainage conditions in Summer Avenue opposite his property. Condition will be investigated. Voted to install a granite curb in front of 32 Summer Avenue and to waive the normal assessment therefore. Voted following pole locations: South St. - Pole 83/14A - Changed from T of R to J.O. Voted to hold next meeting of Board on August 13, 1951. Board adjourned at 10:45 P.M.
