The records of the meetings of February 18th and 23rd were read and approved. The first budget to be taken up was the board of Public VVelf are. It was moved by tdr. 'lnox and seconded by Pair. Briggs that $$37, 152.00 be recommend• ed for Board of Public 'Velfare for 1932. It was moved by i�,r. Haley and seconded by Mr. Knox that 011,200 be re- commended for Board of Health. ® It was moved by Mr. Haley and seconded by ;r. Knox that M99,412.00 be recommended for the Selectmen ' s budget as submitted. Before this motion was put, it was suggested by Mr. Killam that the budget be taken up item by item. The items submitted were voted with the exception of the fo&lowing; Mdisc. Expenses reduced frau X3,000 to =1)2,800 Fire Stations M=aintenance reduced from $1150 to $1000 © Police Bldg. Maint. reduced from $850. to $?550 � . Police Dept. Miaint. reduced from $2500 to ,„2000 Fire Dept. ts'sint . reduced from 82500 to 42000 Fire Alarm Maintenance reduced from 4x1500 to $1200 Moth Dept. Maintenance reduced from $6000 to $5750 Tree 4asrden Maintenance reduced from X2500 to $2400 This reduced the amount called for by w2, 100, making the budget as voted $97,312.00. The budget of the Public Library was voted as submitted - $8,000.00. It was voted to recommend for care of Laurel Hill Cemetery the sum of $8,900 instead of $9,200 as asked for. The reduction of 35300 was the item for a snow plow which the committee found was not a necessity at this time. It was voted to recommend $2000 frau Cemetery Reserve Fund called for under Article 20 of the Warrant . It was voted to recommend $750 for Forest Glen • Cemetery. The budget of the board of Public Torks was next considered and the following recommendations were voteds Salaries & Office Exps. 6,6,000.00 Highway Department 300000.00 Snow & lee Removal 3, 500.00 Faintenance Storm Drains 3,000.00 Sidewalk Construction 8,000.00 Care of Dumps 832.00 Park Department 4,000.00 Storm Drainage Construction Art.26 8,993.56 Birch Meadow Development Art. 27 - $1000 it was voted not to recommend. • It was voted to recommend 3.67,000 called for under Article 28 for development of Reading Square. It was voted to recommend $2000 under article 30 for Longwood Road. The net result of the votes recorded above reduces the estimates for the Board of Public Works*by ;$10,500.00. It was voted to rescind the vote taken on extension of Storm Water • Drainage leaving the matter open to e considered. , Meeting Ad!ourned 11 P.M. Members present;Chm.
