The meeting was called to order by the Chairman at eight o' cl®ck.
C Mr. A. N . Mansfield, Chairman, Library Trustees appeared and pre-
sented the budget of the Library for 1932, asking for Maintenance $3100,
Salaries $4900, total 48000.
Mr. Devaney reported that the sub-committee would meet with the
School Committee on Friday evening, January 8th.
Mr. Scott presented a budget of the Light Department, the only item
affecting the tax rate being an estimate for Street Lighting for 1932
of $15,960.00 as against X13,500 for 1931.
Mr. Fairchild reported on the budget of the Cemetery Department
calling for an appropriation of 49200 for Laurel Hill, and $750 for Forest
Lilenu
Mr. Briggs reported that the sub-committee met with the Selectmen
on Friday evening, December 31st and went over several items to be pre-
sented by the Board. 'lome items were still being considered and the sub-
committee expected to have the entire budget within a few days.
Mr. Connelly reported for the sub-committee on the Assessor ' s Depart-
ment. This budget called for a total of 46209.00.
The matter of salary and wage reduction was discussed at some length.
the Chairman suggested that the various sub-committees get from the re-
spective Boards some definite word as to what was contemplated in the
way of such reductions.
The date of the next meeting was fixed for Tuesday, January 12, 1932.
Members present : Mount Chm., Briggs, Higgins, Devaney, Connelly, Ellison,
Fairchild, Canty, Haley, Killam, Knox, Scott.
