The meeting was called to order at S o' clock.
t No one appeared in response to the call at this meeting.
4/ The Board of Public '."orks came before the Committee regarding further
development of Birch Meadow Play Ground; also presented the project of increased;_
water supply and new Pumping Stgticm; also spoke on highway appropriation which
called for w50,000.00, $4,000.00 of which was to be used for new construction
on Salem Street, providing the State and County each appropriated a like amount.
(4,;'he Board was instructed to have inserted in the warrant a special article call-
ing for this appropriation, deducting the amount from the regular highway
appropriation. The Board stated that it was their intention to purchase a
gasoline powered road roller and explained that the old roller was no longer
proper to use.
At the request of the Finance Committee,Mr. Adden and 1.1r.. Crimp of
ridden, Parker, Clinch & Crimp were present and questioned regarding the water
proofing of brick walls of the Junior High School and were also asked a number
of questions concerning the construction of this building, especially regarding
height of stair rail, the last mentioned being brought up on account of an item
in the School budget calling for 01,889 for raising the height of the present
stair rail. Board and Mr. ��. G. Sias,
Mr. Harry P. Baker of the 1;iunicipal Light
Supt., appeared and presented plans for placing all light wires underground in
the business section and a considerable area in the vicinity, the whole project
calling for a total expenditure of 0123,000.00. The Board has prepared articles
dividing up the project so that the town might vote for all or part of the
installation.

Meeting called to order at 9 o'clock.
It was voted to approve the Board of Health budget as presented with
the provision that the appropriation for Dental Clinic be expended under the
direction of the Board of Health.
L It was voted to approve the budget of the Cemetery Department as follows :
\I Laurel Hill Cemetery, from Tax Levy : 8,900
Transfer from Cemetery Reserve j2,500
Forest Glen from Tax Levy, t,61,250
Voted to approve the budget of the 1,1oth Department for i�6,000, and the
46 Tree Marden Dept. for 3,000.

The Selectmen appeared on Article 10, purchase of traffic signs;
Article 11, purchase of Police Ambulance; Article 37 purchase of Portable
pump for Forest Warden.
The Shhool '�'omnittee represented by Chm. Spencer, Mrs. Bordon,
Mr. Coolidge, Mrs. Fowler, Supt. Safford, appeared regarding the School
Department budget; also Articles 17-18-19-20.
Itwas voted to recommend 413,500 for -treet lighting.
It was voted to recommend the following appropriations for Board
of Public 'v`;elfare :
Visitor's Salary F=600.00

Clerical Salary 352.00
Aid, Board & Care 12,000.00
Iothers, Aid 4,000.00
'remporary. Aid 3,250.00

A general discussion of several matters before the committee was
held but no further votes were taken.
