The meeting was called to order at 8 o'clock. Mr. Ralph ". Keneely appeared
and presented the budget for 1930 for the Public Library.
The School Committee appeared with the School Department budget for 1930.
Chairman CarlM. Spencer, Dr . Barold A. Carnes, Mr. Arthur Coolidge, Mr.
Logan R, Dickie, ''yrs. Marion B. Temple and Mrs. Josephine L. Fowler. The budget
was discussed for some time, several items being debated especially those con-
cerning repairs to building and improvement to grounds. The Planning Board
was next heard. Chm. L. T. Kingman, Mr. C .T.G. Poole, Mr. Winthrop D. Parker,
Mr. George W. Davis were present, and presented the project of widening of
Main Street, showing plans and quoting figures as to the cost of land takings
and other matters entering into this improvement. Messrs. J. Warren Killam,
Jr. , Forest H. Bryant and Mr. John L. Devaney were appointed a committee to
attend a hearing before the Board of Public works on February 6th.

Meeting February 12, 1930.
The meeting was called to order at 8.10 o'clock. 'urs. Josephine L. Fowler
appeared for the Child `"'elfare pork asking for an additional $100.00 appro-
priation. She outlined the work of the pre-school clinic and need for a
! larger appropriation. The Municipal Light board was next heard, . Mr. Harry
L. Baker, Chairman and Mr. Arthur G. Sias, Supt., The budget for 1930 was
presented and ' 12,000 for street lighting was included.
Mr. M. F. Charles appeared by courtesy of the committee to protest against
the proposed widening of Main Street. He also recommended an increase in the
salaries of the Board of Registrars, $85 for three members 4100 for the Clerk.
It was voted unanimously to recommend appropriation of 43,000 for the
Tercentenary Celebration.
It was voted to recommend appropriation of 1600 forplans for Police Station
Under Article 4 of the warrant for the special meeting February 17th, motion was
made not to recommend. 11 voted "Do not recommend. Mrs. Gordon requested to be
recorded as not voting.
Under Article S. it was unanimously voted not to recommend.
Under Article 6, 1.1 voted notto recommend, 1 voted in favor.
Under Article 7, 11 voted not to recommend, 1 voted in favor
