HomeMy WebLinkAbout1951-03-12 Board of Public Works Minutes 109 Reading, Mass. , March 12, 1951 ' The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. Messrs . Donahue, Hopkins, Walker and Superintendent Welch were present. Mr. Walker acted as chairman. Records of previous meeting read and approved. As required by law the Board proceeded to organize for the ensuing year. Mr. Walker nominated Mr. Hopkins as Chairman. Mr. Donahue seconded the motion. Mr. Hopkins was unanimously elected Chairman. Mr. Walker nominated Mr. Donahue as Secretary. ' Mr. Hopkins seconded the motion. Mr. Donahue was unanimously elected Secretary. Mr. Welch was reappointed as Superintendent for the ensuing year. Received letter from Mr. John Devaney, Chairman of Precinct 3 inviting Board to attend Precinct Meeting on Wednesday Evening, March 14, 1951. Received letter from Mrs. Charles A; Damon, 285 Summer Avenue, requesting that the sewer be extended in Summer Avenue to service her property. Placed on file. Following Granolithic Sidewalk applications received, approved, and placed on file. ,- Henry Blethen 47 Federal Street 110 Following Granite Curbing Applications received, approved, and placed on file. ✓ ' Henry Blethen - 1+7 Federal Street/ Percy Coulter 75 Vine Street Received letter from Board of Selectmen stating that they do not feel that it would be advisable to partition off a portion of Room 19 for use by the Board of Public Works. Received letter and plan from Reber Crocker requesting permission to connect drain pipes from private properties to the public storm drain in Evergreen Road. Permission granted.
