' The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
9:30 P.
M.
.Chairman Calvin, Messrs. Donahue, Hattison, Hopkins, Walker
and Superintendent Welch were present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Mr. Paul Howard and Mr. Pittindreigh of Whitman and Howard
met with Board to discuss the results of their investigations of
the Water System. Mr. Howard read a prepared report and a lengthy
discussion took place during which Mr. Howard & Mr. Pittindreigh
answered many questions relative to the present system and possible
improvements.
1 Following Granolithic Sidewalk applications received, approved
and placed on file:
Earl Sampson 16 Temple Street j
Sara Knox 12 Temple Street
Following Granite Curb application received, approved and
placed on file:
Earl Sampson 16 Temple Street
Voted to keep the wading pools open until Monday, September
4, 1950.
Voted not to allot any Park funds to purchase prizes for the
Recreation Committee program.
Considered request of Mr. Arthur Ferriss that he be relieved
of paying any fee for the extension of the water main in Scotland
I Road to service his new home.
Voted that Mr. Ferriss will have to pay the fee.
Received two copies of Charles St. 1950 Chapter 90 Construc-
tion contracts and signed same.

Voted to confer with Chief of Fire Department on future fire
hydrant locations.
Voted to approve proposed layout for Fire Department conduit
location across Woburn St. near Temple Street to service the new
parochial school.
Board adjourned at 10:15 P.M.
