Resolved: That whereas it has pleased Almighty God in his supreme
wisdom to take to himself our fellow employee, that by his death,
we have lost a long active and conscientious member and who was
always interested in the welfare of the Town.
Resolved: That we deeply sympathize with his wife and family, and
offer these lines in memory of our departed fellow employee.
110, what are light afflictions here?
They only bring the promise near.
Of brighter things in Heaven at last,
When all these changing scenes are past.
Be ours a faith serene and bright,
Whose eye can pierce the darkest night,
A faith that sweetly works by Love,
And lifts the soul to joys above."
Resolved: That a copy of these resolutions be sent to the family
of our fellow employee and that a copy be spread upon the records
