Reading, Mass. , April 17, 1950
' The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at -
7:30 P.M.
Messrs. Donahue, Hopkins and Superintendent Welch were present.
Voted to hold next meeting April 24, 1950.
Mr. Eccleston conferred with Board in relation to installing
a water service to his property off Pearl Street in the proposed
location of Condor Road.
Opened bids for three 3/4 Ton Pick-Up Trucks.
Bids are as follows:
Carleton & Gray - 6 cyl. Ford - Net Price forthree
Laing Chev. Co. - 6 cyl. Chev.- Net Price for thr$3,710ee
Hobart's Garage - 6 cyl. G.M.C- Net Price for three

A large group of persons from the vicinity of Pinevale Ave.
conferred with Board relative to a ditch in the rear of the proper-
ties on the north side of Pinevale Avenue.
They also filed a petition containing the signatures of
several other abuttors on Pinevale Avenue.
Received letter from Mrs. Viola Woodward requesting permission
to hold a plant sale on the Common, May 27, 1950 for the benefit
of the Mt. Holyoke Alumnae Committee.
Permission granted.
Following Granolithic Sidewalk Applications received, approved
and placed on file:
George Philips 35 Vine Street
Following Granite Curb Application received, approved and
placed on file:
John Nargis 150 Prospect Street

Voted to approve the expenditure of $2,000 to $2, 500 by
Whitman & Howard to operate draw down well tests in the Aberjona -
Valley on the rear of the Chinaman's Farm.
