HomeMy WebLinkAbout1925-02-09 Finance Committee Minutes �s Meeting Feb.9,1925 . Meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 8.15 o'clock. Mr.Galen A. Parker appeared for the Cemetery Trustees to correct a wrong impression received by the Committee at the last meeting relative to the starting of work in Forest Glen Cemetery,it hav- ing been understood that work was not to be started until late fall.Mr.Parker stated that if the money was appropriated,the work would begin as early in the spring as conditions would permit. Mrs.Mary F.Daniel appeared for the Planning Board wh"h asks `. for $1000.00 for zoning plans and expenses. The Municipal Light Board was next heard and in the absence of _ Chairman Long,Mr.Lvans called upon Mr.Sias to outline the plans of that department for 1925.The matter of enlarging the plant and of purchasing current in bulk were discussed at some length but as the Hoard were not in -a position to present any definite prop- ositions the discussion was mostly of a general nature. Meeting Feb.16,1925 Public Meeting. Meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 8.15 o'clock. Mr.Wm.C.Wales appeared and was heard on Article 17 of the warrant, calling for sper,Kt���ntion of the water mains on Forest Street. Work. Mr.Rolland� pdke in the interests of the Agricultkural Extenbion The budget in detail furnished by the Town Accountant was next taken up and appropriations asked for were,by vote,approved with the following exceptions;it was voted that the Assessors ' salaries be recommended $1800.00 as last year instead of $3600.00 asked Por;it was voted to lay upon the table the Insurance appro- priation,to be investigated further;the Police Dept.maintenance, including Signal System was referred to a sub-committee consisting of Messrs.Ruggles,Dennison and Hartshorn; it was voted to recommend $50,000.00 for Highway Maintenahee,inetead of $60,000.00 asked for.
