HomeMy WebLinkAbout1950-02-13 Board of Public Works Minutes 12 Reading, Mass. , February 13, 1950 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at j 7:30 P.M. Chairman Calvin, Messrs . Putnam, Walker and Superintendent Welch were present. Mr. Walker acted as Secretary. The records of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mrs. Toohey, 16 Chute Street, conferred with the Board, relative to a sewer connection at her property. Discussed, at length, details of water investigation to date. Hearing at 8:00 P.M. on proposed widening at the northerly corner of Main Street and Pinevale Avenue. No one present. Voted to recommend widening to Town, providing a Grant of Easement is executed in favor of the Town. Hearing at 8:30 P.M. on proposed widening at the easterly corner of Chute Street and Mt. Vernon Street. No one present. Helen Phinney and Mildred Gould filed a letter, in which they state that they approve of the proposed widening. Voted to recommend widening to Town providing a Grant of Easement is executed in favor of the Town. Mr. Calvin and Mr. Walker were appointed to serve on the Quannapowitt Drain Committee. Received petition from certain abuttors on Spring Street, requesting that the sewer be extended in Spring Street. Board will investigate. ii 13 Voted to abate the sum of $3.00 on the January, 1950, Water Bill of Mrs. Pauline Hunt, 258 High Street. Adjourned 9:15 P.M. Respectfully submitted: (Signed) Coleman J.
