Donahue, Putnam, Walker and Superin- tendent Welch were present. Received letter from Selectmen requesting that Town Reports be filed prior to January 15, 1950. Voted to accept contract with Weather Advisors for year 1950 and to authorize Superintendent to sign contract. Messrs. Sears, Smith, Williams, Kelley and Stevens all resi- dents in the neighborhood of Main St. and Pinevale Ave. conferred with Board relative to drainage brook westerly of Main Street between lands of Perkins and Sears . Hearing at 8:00 P .M. on proposed acceptance of Spruce Road as a public way. Mr. James Putnam conferred with Board requesting permission for a delegation of Boy Scouts to sit with Board at meeting of February 6, 1950. 1 Voted to grant permission to Boy Scouts as requested. Received letter from Mrs. Mildred Winslow, 107 Mineral Street requesting an abatement of the sewer frontage assessment placed against the property at 109 Mineral Street because of the installa- tion of a sewer in Mineral Street. Superintendent to investigate. Superintendent reported on investigation of water system by consulting engineers. Report to be postponed until mid February. Considered request of Mr. John Quimby, owner of the Launderezy on Haven Street, for an abatement on his October 1949 water bill and also for the establishment of a commercial rate for him. Compared water rates of seven communities under similar conditions. 3 Voted not to make any abatement and not to establish a commer- cial rate. Voted to place a sign on the Sturges Skating area restricting hockey games to the rear section of the area and to request the Police Department to enforce the restriction. Received letter from Louis Garcelon, 11 Plymouth Road requesting a partial abatement on his assessment for the acceptance and construc- tion of Plymouth Road. Voted to abate the per foot assessment on 110 feet. Received letter from Richard Evans , 43 Springvale Road request- ing the installation of storm pipes and appurtenances in the open ditch between Wescroft Road and Springvale Road. Placed on file.
