Members present: Chm. Mount, Haley, Roberts, Canty, Davis, Connelly,
Sturgis, Neilson, Noyes and Trevor.

Meeting of the Finance Commit-gee February 28, 1936.
The meeting was called to order at 7.25 P.M. by the Chairman.
It was moved that the Committee recommend Article 12 of the warrant.
This motion was later withdrawn and it was voted to report "No recommendation
The School Committee appeared, Chairman Coolidge again presenting the
budget for 1936, especially in regard to the appropriation for salaries. It
was voted to recommend $177,730.05 for salaries. It was voted to -recommend
that the Committee include in the budget .; 12,000 for maintenance and repairs
to buildings. The Committee voted to recommend that the a
g appropriation. for
transportation be reduced to $6,290.00.. The following amounts were then
recommended for schools:

The warrant for 1936 was then taken up and the following votes were
passed.
Art. 14 Voted not to recommend.an expenditure of $2,000 for land fo
Public Dump on John Street.
Art. 26 It was voted not to recommend that the Town Home property b
placed under the control of the Board of Public Welfare.
Art. 15. It was voted to recommend the adoption of the amendment to
the by-law.
Art. 31 Voted not to recommend at this time. Recommend that a
Committee be appointed to report at the next annual meeting
Voted to reconsider the vote of February 22nd for Assessor' s Expenses
and voted to recommend 62,000, $500 of which being provided for Tax Appea
cases.
Voted to recommend 55,000 for Reserve Fund.
Voted to recommend $115,180.00 for -Charities and Aid, divided up as
follows:
Administrative Exp. 90850.00
Aid, Board & Care, & Temp. Aid ,000.00
Mothers ' Aid ,600.00
Old Age Assistance 34"000.00
It was voted to recommend $5,500 for salaries and Office expenses for
the Board of Public Works.
Voted to recommend $39,000 for Highway Maintenance and Construction;
$2,000 for Sidewalk Construction; $14,300 for Snow & Ice Removal. It was
understood that about $8,800 of the Highway appropriation would be expended
for new equipment.
It was voted that all recommendations of the Committee on the 1936
budget be made unanimous and that the names of 'all the committee be affixed
to the report.

Meeting of the Finance Committee April 210 1936.
The meeting was called by the Town Accountant as provided in Article E
of the By-laws for the purpose of electing a Chairman for the Finance Comma
for the ensuing year. The meeting was called to order at '8.15 o'clock.
Dominations for the Chairman were called for and the names of G. Lawrence
Roberts and Frank. M Merrill were proposed. No other nominations being
made a ballet was taken, a total of eight votes being Q int. Mr. Merrill
