November 26,1935
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 8.05
o 'clock.
The Town Treasurer,Preston F.Nichols,appeared first and
requested a transfer from the Reserve Fund of $25.00 for
Clerical Assistance,and on motion of Mr.Sturges it was voted
to authorize the transfer.
Mr.Harold uV.Putnam appeared for the Board of Public Norks,
requesting a transfer of 1;75.00 -or Park Department,
The Board of. Selectmen made the following, requests :
Transfer of 4'300.00 for Municipal Building,Expense Account.
and .` 350.00 for Miscellaneous Expense Account.
The Town Counsel requested a transfer of : 150.00 for expenses
and the Collector of Taxes requested a transfer of $125.00
The Board of Public Welfare ,Mrs.LemanpMrs.Rooney and Mrq
Poland appeared and stated that the Mothers' Aid Account was
overdrawn to date about $1400,00 and estimated that it would
require about $1100.00 more ofl $2500.00 to complete the year.
Being informed that the balance of the Reserve Fund was
2150.00 they suggested that the Committee authorize a transfer
of the =, 1400.00 to balance overdraft to date and that the amount
necessary to expend to Dec.31st. ,be carried as an overdraft into
the year 1936p
The following votes on the above items were taken.
It was voted that the transfer of $300.00 from Reserve
Fund to Municipal Building Expenses.
It was voted that the transfer of $350.00 be authorized
to Miscellaneous _xpense Accoun# ,with the understanding that
in the future any major expenditure will not be approved by
the Finance Committee unless it has been taken up,prior to the
expenditure,with the sub-committee.
On the request of the Board of Public Works for $75.00
to be expended by the Park Department to cover the expense of
installing a skating rink on town property at the corner of
Charles and Pearl Streets,it was voted not to authorize the
transfer.
It was voted the authorize the transfer of $125.00
from Reserve Fund to Collector' s Expenses and $150.00 to
the Town Counsel' s Expenses.
After discussion regarding welfare expenditures,the
board was asked to appear and were further questioned as
to the possibility of being able to carry through the Mothers '
Aid if the $2150.00 available were transferred to that account.
The Welfare Board stated that they were make evert effort to
do so and it was voted to authorize the transfer of $2150.00
Members present : Ch.Mount,Noyes,Currell,Connelly,Ellis on,Davis,
Cotton,Sturges,Tverrill,Roberts.
The meeting adjourned at 10.05 o'cloc
