The meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 8:00
0 clock. There were five persons present in response to call of
public meeting.
The Town Warrant for 1935 was not printed. The Clerk
presented the various articles which the warrant would contain.
Chief Ordway of the Fire Department spoke in favor of an
article calling for f7OO,OO for purwhase of ea pump for the Forest
Warden truck. He stressed the need of such a pump in answer to
several questions put to him by members 4f the committee. Mr.
Henry R. Johnson also spoke in favor of this article.
Mr. William DeLong urged the approval of the article calling for
fire alarm box on County Road. Proposed amendments to the building
laws regarding roofing and also providing for floor openings in stores
were discussed by Mr. Johnson, Mr. Ellenwood and Chief Ordway.
The public meetint closed at 9:00 P. M.
Chairman Devaney of the Sub Committee of the Schoel presented
the School budget.

He stated that the School Committee would agree to the
reduction of $4000.00 in the school maintenance estimate.
In view of the vote of the Finance Committee regarding the
salary increases, he said that the matter of salaries was not discussed
by Sub Committee. There was a general discussion on the school
salaries and it was suggested that the School Committee be asked to appear
at the meeting February 20th.
The budget of the Department of Public Welfare was taken up
and was referred to the Sub Committee for further study.
The budget of the Board of Health was taken up and voted to
recommend salaries $300.001, expenses $400.00, contagious diseases
$6500.00, garbage collection $2400.00, inspection of .milk and food
#200.00. The item inspector of plumbing salary was left, opdn and
the Clerk instructed to inquire regarding the duties with view to
reduction of the salary.
The Treasurer' s budget was next considered. It was voted to
recommend $1000.00 expenaas, $1109.00 salary, $250.00 clerical.
Planni Board budget was next considered. It was moved by
Mr. Dickip that 550.00 be recommended. This was amended by Mr.
Devaney to $1800.00, which amendment was lost by vote of six to five.
Mr. Dickey withdrew his motion and it was moved by Mr. Knox that
$1000.00 be recommended, which was voted.
In the Public Library budget it was voted that $5000.00 be

be recommended for salaries provided no salary ,increases were to
be made. Voted to recommend $2800.00 for Library Maintenance.
Under the Cemetery budget it was vented to recommend $8000.00
for Laurel Hill Cemetery, to be raised by tax levy and recommended
that $400.00 be appropriated from Cemetery Reserve. It was voted
to recommend $600.00 maintenance and development of Forest Glen
Cemetery.
It was voted to recommend. $100000 for Town Counselor's
salary and $200.00 for expenses .
Report of the Sub Committee on E. R. A. was read and
the members were urged to make a study of*the same and be prepared
to make recommendations at the next meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 11:00 P. M.
