The meeting was called to order by the Chairman at eight o'clock.
The records of the last meeting were read and approved.
Chairman Connelly of- the sub-committee of the Board of Public Works
reported the results of a conference with the Board regarding the 1935
budget. The estimates were presented in the order in which they appear. ,
Under Highway Department, Page 9, it was recommended that t1ssub-committee
be instructed that the Highway appropriation be limited to $25,000 and
that the item of $6750 for new equipment be embodied in a separate article
for the Town Warrant.
Under West Street, Page 16, it was recommended that this. matter be
deferred to a future .time.

itures be reduced if possible to $2000 and not over $2500.
Under E.R.A. ;Laterial Page 23, the following motion was offered by
Mr. Dickie and seconded by Mr. Knox and VOTED: That a sub-committee
be appointed for the purpose of interviewing every Board necessary to
get information as to monies proposed to be expended in 1935 budget for
materials and supplies to be used in keeping EL,R.A. labor employed and
also to bring in similar factual set of expenditures from 1934 actual
ex-penditures, and also to obtain from E.R.A. officials the amount of
labor in hours and monies used by each town department during 1934.
The following were appointed to serve on the committee:
Logan R. Dickie
William A. Haley
n William A. Connelly, D.M.D.
G. Lawrence Roberts
Allan H. Sturges
The Clerk was instructed to send a copy of this vote to each member
of the above committee.
Certain of the other budgets were discussed and under the Assessorst
estimate a tentative vote was taken recommending the item of $200 for a
steel file for plans made under the block system.
The matter of salary increases was discussed at some length and on
motion of Mr. Haley, seconded by Mr. Sturges it was voted that the Finance
Committee §o on record as opposed--to all increases . in salaries in 1935.
Ten voted yes ". the following requested to be recorded as not voting:
Logan R. Dickie, John L. Devaney, Margaret S. Canty, G. Lawrence Roberts.
It was voted to postpone the inspection of the school building$(until
January 27th,
Meeting Adjourned 10.05 P.M.

Devaney, Dickie, Ellison, Haley, Knox, M rill, ts, Scott, Sturges.
