Superintendent reported that land taking from Saunders off Willow
Street for Sewer Pumping Station is completed.
Conferred with 26 employees in Room 2 for a general informal
discussion of salaries and classifications. Discussion was broad and
varied but two basic matters seemed predominant. There were:
A. Schedule should be broadened by raising maximums so
that there would be financial incentive for an employee
to better himself.
B. All salaries are too low and a flat raise increase
should be incoporated into the raised maximums.
Conferred with 5 persons living on Lothrop Road who requested
information relative to the petition for sewers they filed in early
1953.
