The regular meeting of the Board .of Public Works opened at
7:00 P.M.
Chairman Walker, Messrs. Donahue, Hopkins, Johnson, Kilgore
and Superintendent Welch were present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Following Granolithic Sidewalk Application received, approved
and placed on file: Thomas Young --- 14 Dudley St. ✓
Following Granite Curb Application received, approved aid
placed on file : Marshall Pulsifer, Jr. - 59 Minot St.
Main
Considered complaints about parking at NorthAStreet Garage
and Roberts Stand and Storage of merchandise on sidewalk at Atlas
Hardware Co.
' Voted to refer matters to Selectmen.
Hearing at 7:30 P.M. on proposed sewer extension in Oak St.
from Hillcrest Road to Oak Ridge Road.

Voted to extend sewer in Oak Street from Hillcrest Road to
Oak Ridge Road.
Received bids at 8:00 P.M. for Wheel Type Tractor with Mounted
Hydraulic Backhoe.

Hearing at 8:39 P.M. for Drain Easement off Tennyson Road '
through properties of Herbert Higginbotham, Jr. , Harold Wrigley and
Robert Yeo.

Voted to take Drain Easement as described above.
Mrs. Radcliffe and Mrs. McCarthy of Summer Avenue conferred
with Board relative to drainage conditions at Brook Street and Sumer
Avenue.
Superintendent to investigate.
Considered petition of Carbon and Gray for approval of
Driveway locations at their garage at the corner of Minot and Main Strcets.
Voted to approve the plan providing a fence is provided along '
the Main Street frontage. Fence is to be steel posts with chains
between posts.
Voted to approve the attendance of Mr. Kilgore at the two day
Convention of the Sewer Association at Laconia, N. H.
Conferred with Planning Board. Discussed informally the
following problems, housing developments, recently approved amendment
to the Al Zoning Law frontage requirements and possible Route 28 By Pass.
Considered report of Superintendent on applicants for Engineering
positions.
Voted to hold interviews with Mr. Pagano and Mr. Wiseman on the
evening of May, 25, 1953.
Voted to base future annual budgets for sewer construction on
the estimated cost of applicants on file on Nov. l,of the year next
prior to the Budget year;

Discussed possibilities of each member giving special attention
to some specific phase of the Departmental activities.
Instructed Superintendent to prepare a list of Departmental
subdivisions.
Voted to approve proposed location of Gas Main in Hillside
Road and Oakland Road to service new High School.
Signed Gas Main location plan as immediately described above.
