The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
7:15 P.M.
Chairman Hopkins, Messrs. Johnson, Kilgore, Walker and Super-
intendent Welch were present.
Records of previous two meetings read and approved.
Received petition from several abuttors on John Carver Road
requesting John Carver Road from Woodland Street to dead end be
accepted as a public way.
Placed on file for 1954.
Voted to purchase a bronze plaque for the new elevated water
tank.
Hearing at 7 :30 P.M. on the acceptance of Wentworth Road
from Lewis Street southeasterly about 250 feet as a public way.

It was requested that the grade of the road be lowered between
Sta. 0+00 & sta. 2+50.
Voted to recommend the acceptance of the above described road
to the Town as a public way.
Voted to hold a hearing for a change of grade on the above
described road as soon as possible.
' Hearing at 8:00 P.M. on the acceptance of a public way of
Oakland Road from Longfellow Road to Waverly Road and of Hillside Road
from the end of the present road to Oakland Road.

Discussion was lengthy and detailed covering location, grades,
betterment assessments, etc.
Voted to recommend to the Town the acceptance as a public way
of Oakland Road from Longfellow Road to Waverly Road.
Voted to recommend to the Town the acceptance as a public way
of Hillside Road from the end of the present public way to Oakland Road.
Hearing at 9:00 P.M. on the acceptance as a puolic way of
Woodland Street from John Carver Road westerly about 250 feet and *for
a change in grade for the same.

A rather extended discussion took place covering the width of
the proposed width, proposed grade and proposed design.
Voted to recommend to the Town the acceptance as a public way
of Woodland Street . from John Carver Road westerly about 250 feet. Road
is to be 50 feet wide and with a normal layout.
Voted to approve the proposed change in grade. The new grade

a parallel to the old grade.
Voted to approve the proposed change in grade for Harvard Street
ISI from Sts. 0+00 (Lowell Street) to Sta. 6450 (end of present public way) .
Proposed grade is approximately 18 inches above and parallel ,
to the old grade.
Voted to assess a street betterment charge of $3.00 per foot

for street construction on Oakland Road and Hillside Road.
Considered request of George Rich, 11 Jadem Terrace requesting
that Jadem Terrace be plowed during snow storms.
Based on a report by a Board member it was voted not to plow
Jadem Terrace.
Received letter from Mrs. Abby Estabrook, 125 Middlesex Avenue
relative to a high water bill.
Board will investigate.
Received letter from Municipal Light Department relative to
the possioilities of power failures at the proposed sewer pumping
station off Willow Street.
Board adjourned at 10;30 P.M.
