The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
7:00 P.M.
Chairman Hopkins, Messrs. Donahue, Kilgore, and Superintendent
Welch were present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved, as amended.
Received letter from Robert Harding, 152 Oak Street requesting
permission to connect a cellar drain from his property to the public
storm drain in Oak Street.
Voted to authorize Superintendent to issue permit.
Received letter from League of Women Voters requesting per-
mission to erect a sign on Reading Common.
Permission granted.
Voted abatement of 0.20 on the July 1952 Water Bill of
Brailsford, 40 Oak Street.
Following Bituminous Concrete Sidewalk application, received,
approved and placed on rile:
David Barnes - 89 Ash Street
Signed 1952 Chapter 90 Maintenance Contracts.
Adjourned temporarily at 8 :00 P.M. to meet as Board of --
Survey.
Reconvened at 8:45 P.M.
Voted to hold next two meetings of the Board on Sept. 8,1952,
and Sept. 22, 1952.
Voted to publish a synopsis of the Board Meetings weekly in
the Reading Chronicle.
Discussed filling at and future objectives at the Dump,
Birch Meadow Playgound and Memorial Park.

Signed order of Taking for a Drain Easement off Harvard Street
through lands of George M. McSheehy.
Board adjourned at 9:45 P.M.
