The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened
at 7:00 P. M.
Chairman Hopkins, Messrs, Donahue, Harrison, Kilgore,
Walker, and Superintendent Welch were presdnt.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Considered bids for street betterment construction
submitted on May 26, 1952.
Voted to award contract to the low bidder, namely the
Lawrence Sand and Stone Co.
Signed contract with Lawrence Sand and Stone Co. for
certain new street construction.
Hearing at 7:30 P.M. for Sewer Extension in Orange St.
from Spring St. to Belmont St.

Voted to install sewer in Orange St, from Spring St. to
Belmont St.
Received petitionfrom several abuttors on South St.
requesting the installation of a storm drain in South St, from
Sturges Park to Gleason Rd.
Placed on file pending survey and availability of funds.

Hearing at 6:00 P. M. on proposed sewer in Hillcrest Rd.
from present dead end south of Scotland Rd, to a point about 40
feet southerly.
No one present.
Voted to extend sewer in Hillcrest Road as above described.
Received letter from Junior Legion Uaseball Team requesting
certain dates for baseball at Washington St. ?ark.
Voted to authorize Superintendent to issue dates.
Received letter from Horace Lewis, 1144 Oak St. requesting
permission to connect a drain from his cellar to the storm drain in
Oak St.
Permission granted suoject to the usual provisions.
Voted to grant following pole location.
Lowell St. - West side - Pole 53112A - Moved 30t Northerly
' Considered bids submitted May 26, 1952 for foundations
for elevate,', water tank.
Voted to award contract to low biader,namely Conti &
Donahue, and to notify them they shall notify this Dept. at all
tines when they are ready to pour concrete.
Mr. John McCullough conferred with Board,relative to
drainage conditions in South St, from Sturges Park to Gleason Rd.
Taken under advisement.
Hearing at 6 :30 P. M. proposed installation of Sewer
in Summer Avenue from Orchard Park to Hopkins St.

Mr. James Putnam requested permission for the Reading

Cn a Revolver--" to install and maintain a shooting gallery
in the northerly and of the Old Mill St. Pumping Station if it is
necessary to move the present gallery from the Pearl St. School.
Mr. Walter Fowler, conferred with the Board relative to
proposed layout for North St. between Fairmount Rd. and Second St.
Board agreed to view location.
