- The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened
at 7:00 P.M.
Chairman Hopkins, Messrs. Kilgore, Harrison, Walker and
Superintendent Welch present.
Opened bids for One Ton Pick Up Truck.
Bidders and prices are as follows:
Hobarts Garage - G.M.C. Truck - Net Bid- $1,114.00
Laing Chev. Co. - Chev. " 1,114.04
Arthur Gray Inc.- Studebaker ^ - to 1,$00,00
Carleton & Gray - Ford " - " It 1,55$.25
Voted to purchase G.M.C. Pick Up Truck from Hobarts
Garage.
Received letter from Philip Trask, 106 walnut St. , Request-
ing permission to connect a cellar drain to the public storm drain
in Walnut Street.
Permission granted subject to the usual provisions.
Considered and discussed Chapter 134, Acts of 1952 which
in effect requires approval of plans for developments by the Board
of Health prior to approval of Board of Survey.
Opened bids at 7:30 P.M. for one Two Ton Truck.

Considered street betterment assessments for corner lots.
Discussed prepared motion.
Deferred action pending rewriting of motion.
Considered construction of Wadsworth, Tennyson, and Whittier Rd.
Studied prepared recapitulation of records of public hearing
and of two petitions. _.
Voted to proceed with construction.
Discussed at length the personnel situation in relation to
the Classificathn schedule and the approach to the problem to be used
at the joint meeting with the Personnel Board on Friday Evening, April
' 25, 1952.
Voted to approve a proposed series of small salary increases
for persomel in the lower labor brackets and to submit same to Personnel
Board at the Friday Meeting.
Received letter from Selectmen relative to water main in
Summer Avenue near Woodbine Street.
Board will investigate.
