1952-03-10 Board of Public Works Minutes
Reading Mass. March 10,1952 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:00 P. M. Chairman, Donahue, Harrison, Kilgore, Walker, Superinten- dent Welch were present. Records of pervious meeting..read and approved. Mr. Walker nominated Mr. Hopkins for chairman. Mr. Harrison seconded the nomination of chairman. Mr. Hopkins was unanimously elected chairman by voice vote. Mr. Walker nominated Mr. Donahue for Secretary. Mr. Kilgore seconded the nomination. Mr. Donahue was unanimously elected secretary by voice vote. Mr. Welch was reappointed Superintendent. Hearing at 7:30 P. M. on proposed drain easement through lands of Cloudman, off Summer Ave., opposite Bear Hill Road. The easement is a 10 foot strip abutting the easterly property line of Cloudman. No one present. Voted to take easement as above described. It was moved, seconded and voted to 'appoint Mr. Walker to the Recreation, Comm, as the representative of the Board. Considered outline of prescribed work to be done by private citizens when they wish to prepare their own plans, for submission to the Board of Public Works in cases where the street is to be accepted as a public way. Voted to approve the proposed outline of prescribed work a copy of which is attached hereto and herewith becomes a part of these records. Temporarily adjourned at 8:30 to meet as Board of Survey. Reconvened at 9:00 P.M. Following Bituminous Concrete sidewalk Application,received, approved and placed on file.
