HomeMy WebLinkAbout1952-03-03 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading Mass. March 3, 1952 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at ' 7:00 P. M. Chairman Hopkins, Messrs. Harrison, Walker and Superinten- dent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Mr, Walter Early and Mr. James Nagel conferred with Board and presented two petitions signed by many abutters requesting that Tennyson Rd, and Whittier Rd, be accepted as public ways. There followed a lengthy discussion. Hearing at 8:00 on -proposed acceptance as a public way of a portion of AWinslow Rd. (from present .public way to Glenmere Circle) and a portion of Glenmere Circle (from Winslow Rd, to Ste. 10+00) Following persons present: - John resent: _John Hickey - In favor Robert Bryant- In It John King - " It Douglas Burhoe- " it William Lander-, Norman Hartfield" " Corliss VanHorn Basil MacDonald Richard Winkler Robert Steele Raymond Warren Sherman Smith Voted to recommend to the Town the acceptance of the above described streets as public ways. Received letter from Mrs. Shaw, 80 Pearl St, relative to plowing snow off sidewalks on Pearl St. Superintendent to answer stating this is done by request of Mothers of children attending Pearl St. School. Voted to reconsider motion made at meeting of Feb.2i,1952 in which it was voted not to recommend to Town the acceptance of Wadsworth Rd. Tennyson Rd. and Whittier Rd. as public ways. Voted to recommend to the Town the acceptance of tuadsworth Rd. and a portion of Tennyson Rd. and a portion of Whittier Rd. as a public ways. Adjourned at 10;30 P.M.
