Calvin, Walker and Superintendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Discussed several matters relative to proposed hearings. Temporarily adjourned at 7:30 P.M. to meet as Bos d of Survey. Reconvened at 8:00 P.M. Hearing at 8:00 P.M. on proposed acceptance of Boyce St, (Refer to Plan A-$-58) as a public way. To have the town do the work based on the estimate . furnished by this Department or: 2. To have the work done by contract by a contractor whom Mr, William Sommers claims will do the entire work for $6,900 which 8 is approx. 04.20 per foot. Mr. Sommers stated he will bring contractor to this ' office to prepare a bid for the work. Action was indefinitely postponed. Hearing at 8;30 P.M. on proposed acceptance of Evergreen Road (Refer to Plan No.A-5-73) as a public way. Following persons present. The result of a person by person ballot appears above. No action taken. Mr. Robert Coolidge conferred with Board relative to a proposed housing development of land northerly of South Street beyond the dead end of Gleason Road and abutting lands of Sturges, 'Lewis, MacDonald. He presented a contour plan of the area with possible street locations imposed thereon and asked many questions about Town 9 regulations of various nature. He will submit detailed plans at a later date. Received letter from Louis Garono thanking Board for voting to reduce his betterment assessment on Intervale Terrace. Received letter from Town Counsel explaining General Law as it applies to Betterment Assessments against the B. & M. R.R. As explained it would not be legally proper to assess a betterment against the B. & M. R.R. because of the construction of Bradford Road. Voted to abate the assessment placed against the B. & M. R.R. because of the construction of Bradford Road. Received letter from Selectmen stating that all Articles for the Town Warrant must be filed by Feb. 8, 1952. Received letter from Selectmen requesting that material for the 1951 Town Report be in the hands of the printer by Jan. 28, ' 1952. Voted to abate the sum of $5.20 on the Jan. 1952 water bill of Inez Blaisdell, 113 Sumner Ave. Signed Sidewalk Assessment Commitment Sheet. Received resignation from the Board of Mr. James Calvin. Mr. Calvin stated. that because he is a candidate for the Board of Selectmen he felt he should resign as a member of the Board of Public Works. Voted to accept the resignation of Mr. James Calvin as a member of the Board of Public Works with extreme regret and to offer the best wishes of the Board in his new endeavor.
