r The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
7:30 P. M.
Chairman Hopkins, Messrs. Donahue, Calvin, Harrison, Walker,
and Superintendent Welch were present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Received letter from Personnel Board listing their approvals
and disapprovals of salary changes as submitted by this Board.
Placed on file with listing sheet showing original requests
and action of Personnel Board in each instance.
• Considered note from Superintendent relative to proposed
method of reimbursing foremen for long hours of overtime.
Taken under advisement.
Signed Sidewalk Construction Assessment Commitment Sheets.
Held hearing at 7:30 P. M. on proposed drainage easement off
Charles Street through lands of William F. Brennan.

It was voted to take an Easement for Drainage purposes
through the lands above described. "
Received letter from Robert Muir, 20 Meadowbrook Lane re-
lative to the grade of his driveway apron and the gutter drainage in
front of No. 24
Superintendent reported both items are listed for work in

Voted to hold meetings of the Board on the following '
Monday Nighta:-January 14, January 21, January 28, February f}, and
February 18, Mondays, January 21, February 4 and February 18 are
to be mainly devoted to hearings. Others to general business.
Held hearing at 8:00 P.M. on the proposed acceptance
of Crosby Road as a public way. Crosby Road is off Minot Street,
(Refer to Plan A-5-90)

Held hearing at 8:30 P.M. on the proposed acceptance
of Edwin Street as a public way. Edwin Street is off Minot Street.

Voted to reco=end to the Town Meeting the acceptance
of Edwin Street as a public way,

The following persons, Alfred Sartorelli, Roger Vinson,
Ervin Birchall, and Donald Birchall representing the Realty Con-
struction and Engineering Co., conferred with the Board relative
to a proposed housing development off West Street in what is
commonly called the Chinaments Farm. The discussion was general
covering water supply, water distribution, drainage, Board of
Survey rules, eke.
Received letter from the B. & M. R. R. requesting an
abatement on the street betterment assessment placed against
their property because of the construction of Bradford Road.
Voted to refer matter to Town Counsel.
Received letter from Selectmen requesting that the Board
of Public Works assume the responsibility of painting traffic
lanes on streets.
No action taken pending receipt of further information.
Mr. Dominic Zanni conferred with Board requesting that
he be granted a share of the rental equipment work of the de-
partment. The discussion was lengthy and detailed.
Received letter from Louis Garono requesting an abatement
of the street acceptance assessment placed on Parcels 6 & 7 on
Intervale Terrace because of the construction of Intervale Terrace.
These parcels are 40 foot frontages set aside for future street
locations.
Votad to abate the sum of $109.27 on each parcel.

Received letter from Captain Giromini of the Massachusetts '
IJational Guard requesting the Town to plow out the driveways -
at the two Service Garages at Camp Curtis Guild.
Voted to deny the request with regrets.
Board adjourned at 11:1$ P.M.
