HomeMy WebLinkAbout1942-01-26 Board of Public Works Minutes -M 1'76 Reading, Mass., January 26, 1942. The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Davis, Brophy, Lindsay, Lothrop, Teer and Superintendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Mr. Albert Carpenter to see Board in regard to land owned by Golf Club abutting Pumping Statimn land. Received petition from certain abuttors on Harvard(Private)Ave. requesting that a Section of Harvard(Private)Ave. be accepted as a Public Play. Voted to hold hearing at 8:00 P.M. on February 9, 1942. Received petition from certain abuttors on Lewis(Private) Street ' requesting that Lewis (Private) Street from the end of the present pub- lic way to County Road be accepted as a public way. Voted to hold hearing at 8:15 P.M. on February 9, 1942. Voted to hold an informal hearing on proposed widening of Hopkins Street easterly from Main St, on February 2, 1942 at 8:00 P.M. Prelim- inary plan to be based on a minimum width of 45 ft. Hearing at 8:00 P.M. under Board of Survey on approval of proposed lines and grades for Cannuli (Private) Road approximately 810 ft, westerly from Lowell Street. No one present. Voted to change name from Cannuli Road to Plymouth Road. Voted to adjourn hearing to 8:00 P.M. on February 2, 1942. Considered report of hearing held by Special Legislative Conmiission studying use of Quabbin Basin Reservoir. Hearing was held at the Metropolitan District Commission , Building, Boston, on Janu .ry 20, 19142. Conferred with Subcommittee of Finance Committee on 19142 Budget. Board adjourned at 10:30 P.M.
