Reading, Mass . , November 3, 1941.
The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at '
7:30 P. M.
Messrs. Davis , Brophy, Lindsay, Lothrop, Teer, and Superin-
tendent Welch were present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Received letter from Finance Committee approving transfer of
$250.00 from Reserve Fund to Sidewalk Account.
Voted abatement of $3.00 on October, 1941, water bill of
Methodist Church Parsonage.
Voted abatement of $3.00 on October, 1941, water bill of
Ingalls, 1 Hopkins Street.
Following Granolithic Sidewalk applications received, ap-
proved and placed on file. ,
Gladys Steele - 8 Gilmore Avenue
George Darling - 21-23 Fairview Avenue
Received letter and accompanying plan showing proposed lay-
out for parking areas at 1st. National Stores Bldg, on Haven Street.
Voted to approve plan and authorize Superintendent to sign
plan.
Voted also not to require a Granolithic Sidewalk to be
constructed the full length of the property now but to inform owners
that the Town.will construct one in 1942 and charge owners their pro-
portionate- share.
Miss Sztucinski, 89 Main Street, to see Board in regard to
October, 1941, water bill. '
Voted to abate $25.00 on this water bill.
Hearing at 8:00 P. M. petition of N. E. Tel. & Tel. Co.
for underground conduit location across Parker St. approx. 90 ft.

Hearing at 8:00 P.M. petition of Municipal Light Department on
proposed pole location on the westerly side of Lowell St. approximately
125 ft. northerly from Willow St.
No one present.
Petition approved and signed.
Received petition from New England Tel. & Tel. Co. and Municipal
Light Dept. to remove poles 75/2 - 75/3 - 75/4 - 75/5 on the northerly
side of Pleasant St. and to abandon the locations.
Petition approved and signed. -
Received petition from New England Tel. & Tel. Co. and Municipal
Light Dept. to relocation poles 17/11 to be moved 12 Ft. easterly &
pole 53/25 to be moved 34 ft. northerly. -
Petition approved and signed.
