' The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
7:30 P. M.
Messrs. Davis, Brophy, Lindsay, Lothrop, Teer, and Superintendent
Weloh were present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Signed Chapter 90 Construction Contracts for 1941 for Charles
Street andLowellStreet.
Voted to authorize Superintendent to sign contract with State
Department of Public Works for snow plowing on routes 129 and 28.
Contract covers period from December 1, 19111 to December 1, 1942.
Received .letter from Stanislaw Sztucinski, 89 Main St, relative
to his October 1941 water bill.
Voted to invite him to see Board at meeting of November 3, 1941.
Rearing at 8:00 P.M. on petition of New England Tel. & Tel.
Co, for underground conduit location on northerly side of Willow St.
from a point 118 ft, westerly of Lowell St, to a point 228 ft, westerly
of Lowell Street.
No one present.
Location granted.
Hearing at 8:00 P.M. on petition of New England Tel. & Tel. Co.
for underground conduit locations across Lowell Street at the inter-
section of Lowell, High and Bond Streets.
No one present.

. Received letter from Heenan L. Feer enclosing plan of pro-
posed entrances to parking areas of First Rational Stores building on '
Haven Street.
Voted to request information as to proposed grades of parking
areas and to inform Mr. Feer that following changes will have to
be made on plan: -
A. Driveway entrance to easterly parking area shall be
widendd to 30 ft. and have a dividing island in the
center at the gutter line.
B. The sidewalk abutting the property on Haven St.
shall be removed in itsentirety and relaid with
4n Granolithic on a 12" gravel base except at en-
trances and exits.
C. Driveway entrances and exits across sidewalk shall
be constructed of 6" Granolithic with steel mesh
reinforcing on a 12" gravel base.
D. Each side of each exit mid entrance shall be e-
quipped with a 3 ft. granite return at the gut-
ter line.
E. All construction on the public way shall be done
according to the specifications of the Board of
Public Works of the Town of Reading and to the
lines and grades as established by the Town. -
Voted not to make ..any abatements on the sewer assessments
of the abuttors to Gilmore Avenue. -
Board adjourned 8:30 P. M.
