The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened '
at 7:30 P.M.
Messrs, Brophy, Lindsay, Lothrop, Teer, and Superintendent
Welch were present.
Mr. .Brophy acted as chairman.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Received letter from Finance Committee notifying Board there
will be a meeting of the Finance Committee on Wednesday Evening,
June 11, 194 .
Voted to approve the petition of the New England Tel. & Tel,
Co, to enlarge their Manhole at the north west corner of Haven and
Main St.
Voted to approve the petition of the Municipal Light.Depart- ,
ment for change in pole locations on West St. northerly from
Willow St.
Poles 36/2 - 26/9 changed from N.E.T. & T. to J. 0.
Hearing at 8:00 P, M. under Board of Survey on approval
of proposed lines and grades for Lawrence Road. Extension approximately
22$ ft, southerly from Hampshire Road.
No one present.
Voted to approve lines and grades as shown on plan.
. Signed Board of Survey plan for above described layout.
Voted to abate the sum of $ 197.10 on unnumbered lot, owner
unknown, Lawrence Road 1938 Betterment Assessments.
Assessment was placed on lot because of the 1938 construe- ,
tion of Lawrence Road from Main St, to Hampshire Road.

Hearing at 8:15 P.M. on proposed underground conduit locations
for Municipal Light Dept. on Chapin Ave. approximately 190 ft. east-
erly from Main St.
No one present at hearing. "
Locations approved.
Hearing at 8:30' P.M, on proposed sewer extension in High St.
Dudley St. and Grand St. Extension in High St. from Mt. Vernon St. to
approximately 130 ft. northerly from Dudley St.

Voted to approve action of Superintendent in hiring Moses Parker
as a mechnic at a salary of 65 cents per hour for a 441 hr. week.
Voted to increase the salary of Miss Pratt from 015.00 to
017.00 per week.
Voted to establish the wage rate for compressor operators
amongst temporary employees at .65 cents per hour.
Board adjourned 10:00 P.M.
