' The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
7:3o P. M.
Messrs, Brophy, Lindsay, Lothrop, Teer, and Superintendent
Welch were present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved,
Mr. Brophy acted as chairman,
Following Granolithic Sidewalk applications received, approved
and placed on file:

Hearing at 8:00 P.M. on petition of abuttors for the acBept-
ance as a public way of Lewis St, from the end of the present public '
way to Bounty Road.
Following person present:
Mr. Frank Merrill. representing Ruth F. Mathews, - in favor
Voted to recommend the acceptance of the above mentioned
road to the Town as a public- way.
Received letter from Joseph Logan, of 874 Brighton Ave.,
Portland, Maine, formerly of Reading, requesting employment as a
garage mechanic. -
Received letter from Alvin Estabrook, 62 Temple Street,
requesting employment as a Pumping Station Engineer.
. Hearing at 8:30 P.M.- on the proposed installation of
Granolithic sidewalks, under the Betterment Act on the Easterly '
side of Lowell Street from Highland Street to Hanscom Ave.

Voted to install Granolithic sidewalks in above mentioned
location.
Voted to reemploy Orrison Dickinson, who resigned from the
Department as of May 17, 1941, with following stipulations:.
A. He is to file a petition with the Industrial Accident Board
within one week requesting his accident case of August 1939
be reopened.
B. His employment is to continue until Tune 23rd 1941 at which
time the Board will again consider the entire matter.
Received petition from certain abutters on Fairmount Ave, for
the establishment of lines and grades by. the Board of Survey for a pro-
posed extension of Fairmount Ave, approximately 150 feet northerly from
the present public way. _
Received petStion from certain abutters from Hillside Road for
the extablishment of lines and grades by the Board of Survey for a pro-
posed extension of Hillside Road approximately 200 feet westerly from
the present public way.
Voted to purchase a new tapping machine for the Water Department.
Board adjourned at 10:45 P.M.
